Evidence behind every sustainability claim — recyclability, recycled content, end-of-life narrative. Ready for the EU Green Claims Directive.
A consulting engagement that builds the evidence base behind every green claim your brand makes on pack, in marketing or in regulatory filings. Each claim is mapped to an evidence chain: recyclability test results, recycled-content traceability, end-of-life behaviour observed on the MRF floor.
Engineered against the EU Green Claims Directive so that claims survive the new substantiation and verification regime — and so that the claim and the evidence move together when packaging changes or regulators ask.
A typical engagement runs 6-8 weeks per claim portfolio.
We catalogue every green claim across your packs, marketing collateral and regulatory filings — the starting point is rarely as small as the legal team thinks.
For each claim we identify the underlying evidence chain — what tests have been run, what records exist, where the chain breaks down.
Each claim is scored against the EU Green Claims Directive substantiation requirements. Claims that fail are flagged for retirement or for additional evidence work.
Where claims are commercially important but undersupported, we scope the recyclability, recycled-content or end-of-life work needed to bring them into compliance.
Green Claim support is most often commissioned by three roles.
Want the green claims they have invested in to survive the new EU regime — and to know which claims to drop before regulators or NGOs force the issue.
Need the evidence behind on-pack and report claims to be audit-grade.
Building the defensibility position before the Green Claims Directive transposition deadlines.
Send us your packaging spec and we'll come back within 48 hours with a scoped quote and timeline.
In short: every environmental claim must be substantiated with widely recognised scientific evidence and verified by an accredited third party before it appears in commercial communication. The directive is in transposition; national rules will start biting from 2026 onwards. The engagement gets you ahead of the deadlines.
For recyclability claims, yes — CIRCPACK is an accredited certifying body for RecyClass and RECY:CHECK, and operates the CERTIFY scheme. For other claim types (recycled content, carbon, biodiversity) we work alongside the appropriate accredited verifier.
6-8 weeks for a typical claim portfolio. Larger inventories (more than 200 distinct claims across many markets) run longer; we scope timeline in the intake call.
