The Recyclability Assessment Tool is a self-service product on the Recycling Intelligence Platform. It does for recyclability what the EPR Fee Calculator does for fees: describe your packaging format and get an assessment you can act on. A recyclability class, a score, and the design flags that show what to improve.
The tool currently assesses against the Europe-wide frameworks: RecyClass, CERTIFY (the CIRCPACK recyclability methodology) and the CEN norms. CIRCPACK makes the technical assumptions in the back end; you describe the packaging in a small number of attributes and the tool does the rest. No onboarding needed.
An assessment from the tool is an indication, not a certificate. For claims you can publish, the route is a RecyClass, CERTIFY or RECY:CHECK certification, and the tool shows you where you stand before you take it.
